Cosmetic bonding is a popular and safe way to dramatically improve the look and/or texture of a tooth that has been damaged or become severely stained.
For many people, a chipped or stained tooth affects their everyday lives in a way others can’t understand. It can make them feel self-conscious and reluctant to smile. It can also make them feel unhappy with their appearance, or even stop them from eating properly.
At Citident Dental Practice, we have some of the most experienced dentists in cosmetic bonding Milton Keynes has to offer. We can advise you at our consultation on the options and processes, giving you all the information required to feel comfortable and confident about the methods we use to create your perfect smile.
Looking After Your Bonded Teeth
The composite material used in cosmetic bonding is not as strong as tooth enamel – there are not many things that are. To enable your new bonded tooth or teeth to look their best for as long as possible, you may need to amend some of your oral habits.
Biting your nails can chip the resin, as can chewing on ice or even on your pen. Try to be aware of the things you are chewing and make a concerted effort to protect your teeth to ensure they look great for longer.
As with natural teeth, coffee, tea, red wine, cigarette smoke and other substances can stain the resin. To prevent lasting discolouration, you are advised not to eat or drink anything that may stain your new cosmetic bonding for the first 48 hours after placement.
To get the best results, simply treat your bonded tooth or teeth like your natural teeth. Brush them twice daily, and have them professionally cleaned by a dental hygienist often.
